I received a call earlier today which was scary .. asking me if I'd heard from my son today (who is stationed at Ft. Hood TX. awaiting orders to deploy .. ) I said I hadn't heard from him and asked why - I was then told of the shooting at the Soldier Readiness and Sports Complex ... I was finally able to make contact with my son who was not in the building at the time the shooting occurred .. all is well in the Darnell household for now .. Please say a prayer for the fallen ...

Glad to hear all is well..I lost my Mum in September after she had suffered a bad stroke..She meant everything to me..so I understand your relief. In God we Trust seems very appropriate at these times.

The killer was a staff psychiatrist. Go figure. I often wonder why folks don't see some signs of these jackasses snapping a twig.
I'm glad your boy is safe Chuck. My son will be 18 in December. He gets propaganda in the mail from some branch of the armed services every day. I chuck it out before it gets in the house. I'm proud of our military and our brave soldiers, but I'm not willing to lose my only son. It's horrible though, that these men and women join to protect our country and allof us, and then are gunned down by one of thier own. It makes no sense at all does it?
Thoughts and prayers go out to all of these families who are suffering such horrible losses every day, and to you and your family old buddy.
