This is the 1969 Monogram kit, built out-of-box with the brass trim touched up to look like gold and all the white parts painted Testors White Lightning (pearl) One Shot Lacquer. There were a few minor problems assembling it but nothing that needed re-engineering. Overall, a fun build. Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Howard as clean and sanitary(!) as your build is, that kit (and the real car) just make me cringe when I see it! LOL! I'm sorry, I feel like that was an all-time low point in time for show rods... Of course, there is THIS thing that is worse!!!!

it sure does!! those are definitly pontiac engines, and they have the same ram tube injection stack looking air cleaners. the front of it looks like it could be the leftovers of the gto frontend, but all cut up.

Remember guys, Jay was real good at making bad clones. I would guess he copied the Raiders Coach chassis to make the Cincinnati Kid or 'how to make a great movie into a crappy car' FYI...the Bathtub Buggy has a pile of small, delicate parts. I did many of them very slowly, like 1 or 2 parts a day, then let them dry overnight. I used Testors and Tamiya glues and some super glue in tricky areas. I wonder how tricky the other bathtub is...

Yeh, I had heard that was the remains of the Raiders Coach, but who knows. Of course, he did have the Martain Spider at one time and turned it into the "Eiffel Tower" car! When you see stuff like this, you have to stop and scratch your head and wonder just what these guys were thinking!!!! And Howard, your build of the Bathtub is meticulously done as per your usual, so please no offense to your craftsmanship! It's very well done!

That's not the Coach I can assure you. Back in Febuary when George was in Milwaukee I asked him again about that and the Coach is somewhere in front of a resturant on display. I forgot where he told me it was.
