Well, with nearly ten years in the works, the completed Rally Rod is finally in Dave's hands. As some of you may know, he's on the road traveling Monday through Friday, leaving little time to do much else... As luck would have it, I sent him an email earlier in the week, and he just so happened to be stationed in downtown Atlanta - an hour from my house. We made a plan to meet up after his last class this afternoon, before he boarded his plane. The Blue Goose and I headed south, battling Atlanta's finest rush hour traffic both ways. Though we've spoken on the phone over the years, it's always a pleasure to finally put a person to a voice, and he is every bit as nice as one could expect... He was truly touched by both the thought and the model, and I'm sure he will chime in when he gets a chance. But for now, here are a few pictures: Mission completed!

Dave's a pretty cool cat and I am sure I will be seeing him and his full size toys out at a few car shows soon. I might just have to steal the Ralley Rod for my display at the 2011 World Of Wheels LOL!!! ;D

This is quite possibly the best story I've read on this forum yet! ;D Without Dave, none of us would have ever met, Show Rod modeling would still be an overlooked sub-set of the model car hobby, and I would have nowhere to stop first thing every morning! Thanks Brandon for getting that beautiful model exactly where it should be! And thanks Dave for all you've done for us "Clowns". Don't think for one minute we take it for granted. Tory

Very cool to see. . .and Thanks for starting the site!
It is a great place and I've met some great friends over the years!
It is worth of a display case . . and everyone's signature/home town/country on a page for Dave. What ever happened to the map someone was making? Is it still around? That was a huge job!
Thanks again Dave and all who worked on creating this beautiful car!

Definitely a story that deserved to have that sort of ending. It's really cool to see that piece finally in Dave's hands and I'm sure he knows how much a lot of us appreciate having the Showrod Rally and Coffin Corner. Very cool of Brandon to take care of it too!
Very cool Dave and you know I always appreciate this place.

So THAT's Dave! He's almost in as good a physical shape as I'm in myself! Ha! Crap, I thought all modelers were in the same shape I'm in. Oh well, it's back to the diet and rabbit food fer shure!
Seriously... Dave also has my gratitude for creating the site we all call home. And, yes... all the guys who help keep it going do as well.
