The recent release of the Tijuana Taxi seems to have struck fertile ground; in the past month or so there have been a lot of people completing Taxis and posting pics. So many that I kinda lost count But I love seeing all the different things people do with the same kit, and I thought it might be fun to post pictures of our Tijuana Taxis (and variants) here, to gather them all in one place. I'll kick it off with a couple pictures of the Rainier Ski Taxi, which you guys saw back in January. (Since these pictures were taken, I've straightened the off-level trunk ):

Nice builds guys! Hey Fred,
Rather than bore you with a Spanish lesson, I simply thought I'd try to help ya..! Hope you don't mind & if you do, PM me & I'll remove it. If you like, make a copy before Brandon moves or deletes this..! It's "des los muertos" isn't it?

Here is my Tijuana Taxi. A renovated original kit, allmost box stock. Except for the scratchbuilt parts that were missing. Rear shocks, cowl, gear shifter, rear light, and bits and pieces....

Blast from the past, but a cool thread! I will add my Mother trucker... built way back before the reissues with the leftover parts from two Diamond REOs that I salvaged for the Boss Rig car carrier:

Heres mine , built waaaay before the reissues and was a major Ebay gluebomb. Lots of filling and repairing, plus trading the guys here for some (at the time) rare parts . It took me over a year to get this thing together , but I did manage to get it finished in time for the 2004 Tom Daniels contest . With all the reissues, its now hard to believe that this was such a grail kit for so many people !

I do laugh now, that the reissues have become a reality. Ten years ago you just didn't see any TJ Taxis anywhere. I paid $60 for a gluebombed hull, just the body and a few small parts, and was over the moon. Now.... now I can't find a Bad Medicine or a Beer Wagon for cheap... LOL. It's awesome.
I like threads like these where we show the different variations of each kit. I'd like to see something more regular along these lines.... Helps fan the flames of inspiration.

Dont I know it ! I remember paying $10.00 + shipping for a small junk lot of model bits just because I saw the TJ Taxi bull horns in the auction . The rest was junk, but I thought I really scored getting those horns !

Ha! Those TJ Taxi horns! I had a set that must have gone to at least three different people to see if they could be cast in resin. No way Jose, those complex curves were just too complex to cast!
I remember the feeding frenzy that broke out on the original CC when I scored a junk lot that had a load of Taxi trim parts in it. Nowadays it's the Taxi parts that would be seen as the junk!
