anyone ever done business with this guy? I had a bit of an experience with him this weekend just wanted to throw it out there and kinda vent. He had a set of wheels on Ebay that were exactly what I needed for my Eleanor job starting bid 14.99 plus 4.00 for the trip, so I email and offer him 18.00 for a set directly since he didn't show them on his website. He replies and says that in fact the price is 18.00 plus the 4.00, now we are not talking about a lot of $$ here but I felt they were a bit on the pricey side to begin with, and then there is the principal of the thing. So I jump back on the "bay to bid at 14.99 and my bid is blocked!! So I use my wifes account, different name and email and the bid goes through only to be canceled later!! There was no intention of selling this wheel for under the 18.00 regardless if the starting bid on ebay. So I will go out and buy an old SC 427 cobra for 15.00 and scrap the whole thing just for the wheels. Just thought I would share that with you guys

sounds like this to me....just my opinion.
put stuff on ebay....see how high it goes...cancel bids, send invoices to highest bidders.....avoid ebay fees. not the way I would want to do business...

Loony Theune? Have heard enough stories, both on the web and personally from club members, for me to stay away.

when i did business with him, he waited until the stuff was paid for before he started pouring. 6 weeks to get the stuff finally. as noted, he's a head case. stay away.. far far away.
if he's jacking the price up, file a complaint with ebay and paypal.
did i mention to stay away from this guy?

Wow, that's crazy! You send him a question and he adds you to his blocked bidders list, that's a heck of a way to do business!!!

What's weird is that the quality of the casting isn't bad at all (I picked some pieces up from someone who'd bought them from Reliable) so it's not as if he's trying to cover up a bad product.
Bizarre way to run a business!

I have dealt with him too, not bad shipping time considering i live in Scotland but i was utterly disappointed in the quality
giving the high price i paid i was expecting a lot better, Mr Flinstone is cheaper and a heck of a lot better so i cant justify RR's prices, in-fact his quality was sooo crap i ended up using the original MPC kit parts,
yes i said MPC so that should give you an idea of just how crap!

Don Theune has a reputation that goes back several years and little of it is good. At one time or another his name has come up on most of the major model boards. I don't personally have any buying experiences with him, having been warned about him by others. It is unfortunate because he does resin of some interesting things. All the criticisms mentioned here I've heard before.

Great news for modellers,Loony Theunes is no longer on Epay so he can no longer 'fleece' the unknowing buyers. Why he was not dumped by Epay years ago I'll never know but at least he's gone now. Good ridance !!

I wished that I would've seen all of the negative things about Reliable resin, I thought that going through pay pal that it would be a save order, BOY was I wrong. After 9 weeks still no order . After phone calls with Mr. Theune and to give him more time, I don't believe that I will ever see my order.

I would recommend to just get your money back at this point. Paypal should be able to help you with that.

I recently stumbled onto a thread regarding the business practices of this guy on a 1:1 car forum that had a modeling section. In everyone of his posts he would lash out at anyone who didn't praise him.
I think I've dealt with enough people in my like to realize an honest person would be apologetic and do what they could to rectify the situation. It's the dishonest people who immediately lash out at the consumer and give any and every excuse as to why it's the buyer's their fault for what happened.
Mr. Reliable fell into the latter.
