Diamond pleat covering for the interior. I started with a styrofoam plate I got from a dollar store and cut out the flat bottom. Then using a ruler I made marks at a distance that I would like the diamond size. Then using the dull side of the blade I lightly scored the styrofoam along the ruler and marks for this pattern. After this, cut the styrofoam to fit the panels you need to cover. You may want to start by cutting them slightly larger in all directions then test fit and trim accordingly. This is very thin foam so it will fit the curves of whatever pattern you might need to cover. You can use this method for tuck & roll as well. Using the cut off scraps you can test paint colors. CAUTION: If you try this only use ACRYLIC WATER BASED paint!!!! All other types of lacquer/oil/shellac bases will melt the styrofoam!!!!! Water based glue will adhere it to the plastic model if you rough up the plastic first. You may have to let some of the water evaporate out of the glue first so it becomes stickier. I'm sure there are other glues that might work better. Regular model type glues will melt the styrofoam. Dave
