....NOT!!!!! BUT....I sold my Jupiter 2 last night for $3500.00! It's going to a California collector. I'm pretty stoked and so is he. He's having a nice plexi cabinet built to house it. I'm glad it's going to a good home. I plan on starting (2) LIS Chariot's for my next projects, one to sell and one for my own collection, and will do the same after the first of the year with (2) more big J2 kits! You guys are gonna' sh*t when you see what I just got commisioned to build for a showrod guy! I have to get permission from him to post the build when I get started. It's the chance of a lifetime on the rarest of the rare! GOT JUPITER?

Rarest of the rare? My guess is either the Laramie Stage Ghost or the Smug/ Muscle Bug, I'm sure you'll do it justice whatever it is.

WOW! Tim, what a nice deal.
Nice chunk of change....maybe you don't want to add up your hours in the project, and maybe you have a market for these. The more you do the better and faster you will get.

Cripes Dave, that sounds like my wife! "Sooooo, how fast can you make another one fo those and get it on ebay?" LOL.
That was over 200 hrs. work spread over almost 3 months, and it was very taxing!
I honestly didn't plan on selling this model at all. It was a learning experience, and a labor of love for sure. The more of it that went together, the more in love with it I was. I have to admit, I had some MAJOR anxiety boxing it up yesterday, and a lot of worry about it making it to California in one piece. It took me the better part of 2 hrs. packing it all safely in foam.
I WILL build another, 2 in fact, in a few months. I am planning on building 2 LIS Chariots next. One will be a keeper this time and I will sell the other.
I parted with this build because my family needs the money during this extremely slow summer season, plain and simple. In the words of Mr. Spock, "The needs of the many, outweighs the wants of the few". I can live with that. I did hate to see it leaving though.....BUT, onward!

Tim, Perhaps that didn't come out as I meant it. This is something you seem to love doing, therefore even if you never plan on selling another one you will continue building them. By building more of them it will streamline your process and in the long run save time in the amount of hours you put into each build. Therefore if an opportunity arises to sell one you have the process down. I don't mean that you will evolve into a production line. 200 hours is really amazing time. I have put close to 100 in some of the scratch\bashes I've done and they aren't half as intense as yours. The buyer definetely got a top quality build! Live long and prosper bro Dave

No offense taken at all Dave! LOL. YOU get it, my wife DOESN'T!! A model building see's the hours of labor and love put into these things, the women-folk see dollar $igns!!! LOL!!
Your right though, I know a lot more what to do and not what to do. The next ones won't have as many main console fibers!! What a pain that was with minimal results!! It WILL probably have some sound the next time to go with the lights!
