Okay, I've got some of the Testors decal paper, but I don't have the clear coat spray paint that came with it. I don't know if I'll get a chance to get anywhere nere a real hobby shop soon enough to make what I need to complete my Scary Rides in time, so, what I want to know is, what seems to be the best, reasonably handy, clear to use. My first few experiments have seemed to have the clear 'chip' off the edges and the ink washed away when I applied them... This was using Testors clear gloss lacquer, which I plan to use as a final finish as well.

I've used "Crystal Clear" from Wal-Mart in a pinch Mike .. It's an enamel and seemed to work for me.. be sure and tape the corners of the paper down before spraying to help eliminate "curl" .. A light coat is recommended first then spray just enough to cover the subject ..

I don't consider myself an athority on this topic, But I have used the testors spray with 100% satisfaction. I have also purchased decals from individuals that chipped, and, or ran! my opinion go a bit out of the way and get what works... It just may save your build! Bill

I use a high gloss clear lacquer. Two light coats. It works for me.
