I was trying to work those rear slicks onto the rims when I had a idea. I dipped the tires in boiling water for a few seconds, that caused them to expand enough to slide onto the rim. Worked like a charm. Gives new meaning to "boil the hides!"

You can actually use the hottest tap water you can get to just soften them enough to become slightly more pliable. We do it with grommets that go into tight holes here where I work. Hot tap water and they become much easier to insert. I'd assume that the tires would work the same way. Boiling will definitely work but may be a bit extreme. I don't know however what these new tires are like so maybe it would take boiling water.
