Actually, part of Monday, too. I really enjoyed this build. I don't know how the old mold was to put together, but this was awesome! Everything fit perfect (dry fit held while I got an idea of how to proceed). I worked the body without a basecoat, just some acrylic wash, then decals, flat coat, and a dusting of color I had mixed when I was working on a Swine Hunt. The blast point damage to the driver-side fender and spare was caused accidentally while I was making hot-needle bullet holes (watch your heat source, fellas)! Not sure if the driver is telling the kommander "Heil" or, "Ja, Ja, I know where der shooting is coming from"! Thanks for looking!

so i have a question? im a builder who follows this forum and participates in a couple other boards. every build on here is amazing, including this one, why was there such a big stint immediately on that other build that has a swastika but there is no comment on any rommels rod or red baron, maybe its not my place but it seemed to me that the other builders who built these types of models were treated unfairly. if im out line just let me know, i didnt think there was any type of builds we werent allowed to build. Great job plastimatic i have one of these on the backburner hopefully sometime this year i will get to building it.
thanks for sharing josh

thanks for sharing josh ... I think maybe it was the bold sight of the swastika, being added to the build, whereas on the RR and baron those tones are much more subtle, .. and already on the kit originally. The RR and baron, have been "what they are" since the early '70's, and they are generally accepted I think. I believe Monogram has even tried to tone that down a little more since they've been re-released. There are some folks here on the CC, that are a bit more "offended" by this, than others. I think, "could be" that "maybe some" of the more younger generation that doesn't perhaps, know a great deal about how much it became a symbol of hatred, therefore, may not understand why it would be so inappropriate. .... actually it's when people fight or argue or slander one another here that gets things moved to the "cornfield" .... There is an "Etiquette" here that is announced on page one, that needs to be observed. one mans opinion, ... and "only" an opinion. -AL
