I only post occasional personal stuff here 'cause I now you Klowns may get a kick out of it.
So the doc tells me I have a deviated septum. I have had trouble breathing at night, but I do not snore. He says he can fix it by slicing a little off the inside of my nose on the left. For a 20.00 co pay I say "Sure Doc."
I go in; they put me out. I wake up and they say you will not be able to breath through your nose for a few days. Pretty uncomfortable, but bearable with the pain meds. I look pretty stupid with gauze held under my nose with a rubber band. I sound pretty weird when I talk.
Doc calls me in to check me out after a few days. I go in.
He says, "I am going to pull the packing out of your nose.
I say "Does is hurt?
He says "I's really quick."
Hmm...
So he goes up the with forceps and pulls out my left sinus cavity- with me feeling every tiny bump - the equivalent of a stretched out maxi pad. (Sorry, no pics) I roared with the pain and ungodly feeling of it. As soon a he dropped the wad in his little metal pan he stood back about 5 feet to see what I would do next.
"That was horrible! I can't believe you got all the in there. Why are you standing way back there? I'm not going to hit you. Thank god that's over."
Doc says, "I still have to do the other side."
Worst 20.00 bucks I ever spent. You have been warned.
Flounder.

Been there, done that, thrice I also had my nose cauterized a few times. They froze it and did the cauterizing. As I was heading home, I smelled burning meat...then realized it was my nose...that smell stayed for a few days and I had no appetite. I remember being so tired I slept almost the whole three days.

Funny HELL, I almost PUKED just thinking about it!
I'll just let my right nostril whistle when I sleep. It doesn't bother me, I'M ASLEEP! I had my nose broken twice as a kid. Once by a basketball, once by a baseball. The under side of my nose now takes a hard right turn.

Man! That makes my eyes water! Ouch! The doctor stepping back tells you he has been kicked before during that procedure.

Great feedback, Klowns.
Amazing what we will go through. Recovery time is only a few days. Once they pulled the gauze, I was good to go the next day, with just a little soreness and some occasional ugly snuffs. (Sorry no pics.)
Oh, the nurse, who said she heard me yelling also said that sometimes people run out of the room. That would be a sight!
