Awesomely cool! That's just the sort of (ridiculously out-of-scale, and therefore smile-inducing) engine that Revell should have put in these cars, in the first place! And the wing goes well with the intent of the new engine, too; sort of re-balancing the overall looks.
Personally, the Trans Um has never been one of my biggest favorites, from the DW line-up; but I'm lovin' your take on it! To me, that model has always felt "gaudy" or ostentatious or sort of visually conflicted. As supplied, it feels like too many sub-parts, all over that model; each individually crying out for a viewer's attention, in too-even amounts -- but I guess that's the joke, in a way. (That some of the 1:1 cars were arguably that way, too.) The Trans Um, as supplied, wasn't ever one of my "hangs together" faves, for a satisfying 'toon car's looks. I guess I just like the simpler lines of the '57 cHEVY and the VW Van, etc. as a general rule. But by overwhelming the Trans Um's smaller details with that engine and that wing, it feels to me like you've visually re-balanced that entire model; in a pleasing way. (Plastimatic's big Bat Wings on his Trans Um model did much the same ... and both worked well. Hmmm. Guess the trick, with the Trans Um, is to throw "subtle" out of the window; and to go with "in your face"!?)
Great job, all around! Nice goin' ... and then some! ;D
More pics, please! (Got any more "in-progress" shots?)

Great first build/modification of a Deal's Wheels kit. WARNING: These kits have been known in the State of California to cause irresistible compulsions to collect and build more! ;D
