I have to thank Ira's thread for kicking me in the pants and getting this one out and back on the bench... Somebody donated the Jeep kit to my kids, forgive me for pilfering it, but they have been building with me the last two days on the others, so all is not in vain... My oldest just finished a Cop Out that he really fought but felt great about after he muscled through it and the decals were on.. It's important to me to help him not get discouraged because things aren't perfect and keep going. It was a cool evening.. Anyways, this Tamiya Jeep was motorized, but the perfect size... I ripped apart my Deal's bus for the parts, and it will get the mirrors, antenna, surf boards and license plates... I have some side pipes and other doo-dads also... It's a 2WD dune jeep.. I'm probably going to paint it yellow... Yes I will trim and shape the fender flares that Ira inspired..

Looking good, Brandon ! It really looks like a lost Deal's' Wheels kit. I have a suggestion for you - You could make the roll bar look like it was made of old plumbing pipe - sort of like the exhuast on the Hut rod Huey kit. You could even fabricate a spigot or something. We all know about Dave's humor in his kits, and since its a Deal's tribute car , I think it would fit .Just my two cents !

[glow=red,2,300]Great Start Brandon![/glow] It sure looks like a Deals Wheels kit to me! Here is a photo of my 10th scale RC "Wild Willy 2" box. I thought it might give you some Jeep ideas like a spare tire, gas cans, roll bar lights...

I am using a jeep like this for inspiration: Like and old '70s dune/beach comber with the surf boards in the back and a shovel from the Li'L Stogy...

I had the larger scale Wild Willys R/C wheelstander many years ago, and that thing was a blast!!!! I thought this body looked similar and the fact you have a figure body as well! Perfect man!
Go with it!!!! Camo paint?

I think it was a Wild Willy Jr.. little battery-powered deal.
I'm thinking a Yellow beach/dune bomber since I've made it 2WD...

Brandon Great start! There were quite a few 4Wheelers in DW's art, but a 2WD jeep works for me (I remember almost buying an Army surplus one way back in the 70s, but the motor was unworkable, and also, since I lived in NE PA at the time, an uninsulated metal vehicle with no heater was to be considered "reckless"). Anyway, I passed one of these John Deere's on a trailer the other day, and I thought, "What is more 'DW' than that", and "Where can I get a set of those tires for a 'Never Was' Jeep?"
