But, I just had to share this.
A friend of mine is moving and she's cleaning out her garages.
So she called and asked me if i wanted to come over and look at the stuff and see if there was anything that I wanted.
Nope, there were no toys or models, but a ton of antiques and some off the wall stuff.
So, over in the corner of one of her garages i spot this thing.
It was all torn apart, covered in dirt and something was growing on it.
I picked it up for $20.00, but I had to put it back together and get it running. It had been sitting for 3 years with the same gas in the tank.
A few hours of re-assembling some parts on the motor, cleaning the carb out and some good old soap, water and s.o.s here's what it ended up looking like.
This thing is a total riot and probably goes about 25 mph top speed with me on it. I had to fix some of the lights, and charge the battery (it has a built in lithium ion battery) It has a headlight, tail and stop lights, turn signals electric start and a horn...it's totally hilarious.
The horn sounds like a fork lift horn and it reminds me of something that Pee-Wee herman would ride.
Yeah, it's kind of dorky looking, but it's really fun to ride around.
My 68 year old father in law took it for a ride, and all I could think of was those rascal scooter commercials. It's so darn funny!!
It's got flame decals on it which adds to the dork effect.
The motor is a 43 c.c. 2 stroke with a centrifugal clutch and chain drive.
The thing had only been ridden about 10 times and then she crashed into a fence on it (breaking the headlight). After she crashed it, her son decided to start taking it apart, and then it sat for 3 years. I put a new bulb in the headlight, made a lens out of a c.d. case and put it all back together. I had to fix a couple of broken wires for the lights, but that was a simple fix.
The rear tire was flat and I had to take the back wheel off and remove the drive sprocket to get to the valve stem on it....lol.
So this is one more addition to my stable of motorized bikes, motorcycles, electric scooters and other junk. My kids always have something fun to ride around on tho.
