OK, Skurv, Skuzzo, Hi-Zoot, Skribbles, and whoever else. I have identified these particular Klowns because they were the goofballs who made up the orginal crew who made Rat Plastic Thrash 2006 such a great time. If you think you want to make it, then chime on in. Remember, you have to give up some decent junk to play. Here is how it is going to work. The place I will host again. This part is my pleasure. So the city officials in Corona CA will be warned of heavy fumage. If Ventura guys don't want to travel, then I am sure Zoot and I can make the trip. The dates. Please identify ALL the dates you all can come play. I will add them up and then pick one. I am going as soon as possible to avoid the Summer heat if it is in my garage. June 9 June 30 July 7 July 28 Please identify and post. The event. Build a model in one day with few limitation. Cars are encouraged. Paint is limitied to two colors. Here is the link to last years event: public.fotki.com/Scottcolmer/rat_plastic_thrash_2006/OK Klowns. Lets get ready to Cruuuuumble.

Okay Flounder,
I'm available on June 9, July 7, and July 28.
The later it gets in the summer, the better off we might be holding it up here by the beach - maybe at Scuzzo's shop or his clubhouse. Dave at Hobby Central in Santa Barbara would also let us use the back room/semi-enclosed area behind his hobby shop. That said, I'm down to travel to Corona, but this time I'll bring some trunks in case I need to cool off.
Tips on stuff to bring: Besides glue (both plastic cement and CA-type glues + accelerator) and hobby knives/parts nippers, I'd suggest a razor saw and emory boards. As far as your parts pile, try not to bring multiples of many parts, or mundane stock interior parts that nobody is likely to use. Busted up built-ups are best - it's neat to see pieces covered in some kids old brush paint and decals next to other pieces in raw plastic. Bring engines and wild wheel/tire combos, cheesy out-of-the ordinary bodies and maybe a few old partial decal sheets, just for kicks. I don't suggest much more paint than maybe a can of primer or metallic silver - the cars are more interesting in their raw plastic/patina forms.
I know Starvanzer was interested in making it out this time... I'll see if Wheelchair Mikey is game.
If we shoot for July 28, it would allow us to shop the swap at the Western Scale Classic with beat-up/wild donor kits in mind. I scored some great cheap-but-cool kits there last year.

Yup - we all bring a bunch of parts/built-ups/donors, put them in the middle of the table and start making models out of them. We drink beverages, eat food that's high in cholesterol, and make fun of what everybody else is doing when we're not in total awe at what somebody just decided to glue together. It was a LOT of fun last year. Hopefully at least as many good times to be had this time around.

Guess a little more detail would be good. You pretty much got it right Brandon....
Everyone brings parts and building materials. Check what Skurvy said. It best to bring old broken models.
The word here is "patina." I would even leave the dust.
Basically, we take the parts old and new and slam together a build within a specific amount of time. Detail loses to creativity. Only two colors - primer and metallic silver are allowed. Decals are OK too. Basically, you get a 1 day rat rod. It is very fun.
Check the link and see what we turned out last year.
Hope the dates all line up and you can make. This would be right up your alley.

I'm in for July 28th. It'd be kind of cool if you guys could come up here to the beach. It would make it easier for Brandon and Little Sam. If PWFlounder's girlfriend will let him come up this way, that'd be fun. I think I freaked her out the last time we met. We can do it at my shop, there's a hude stock pile or junk models there to deal with. Or we can come up the club house. Lots of tamales to eat in Carpinteria if you want. Scuzzo
