just got the 1914 Stutz racer 1/16 Lindberg public.fotki.com/jferren/1913-mercer--1914-s/1914stutzbearcat116.htmlits a reissue of the 50s Saunders&Swader kit looks not bad for that age ... and lots of possibilities to improve details I started the kit ... but now I cant find original pics of that special one ... and somehow I would like to build something more or less historically correct ... not a fantasy thing out of the box this Stutz is special cause its with some kind of trunk and the most special thing with a unique kind of long dashboard/firewall body part but all Stutz pics of that time which I could find are different ... they do have either some kind of closed body like the Indyracers ... or the dashboard part is much shorter and starting right behind the hood like the normal Stutz Bearcats I dont know how much I can rely on the boxart .. cause it was created about 25 years later than the kit itself ... and its not really accurate painted especially in that part would be nice if you could tell me where to find something about that car thanks

I can't help with the pictures , but if its a rep[lica of a real racing car there may be many different versions of the car due to modifications done over its racing career . There were no rules on race car building back then, so it was basically" build whatever you think will work " . Cars were also pretty flimsy in those days, and there could have been some hand built modifiing due to accidents or upgrades . If you can't come up with any definite answers , you could just pick the best shots of one version and build that car - just my two cents !

From the stuff I found on the Web, the kit appears to be a stripped-down Bearcat (no fenders, simpler seats). However, like you, I was unable to find any specific pictures. If it were mine, I'd build up the seats a bit with armrests and a taller back, and maybe try to graft on fenders; build a road-going Bearcat. In fact, I looked for this kit at Hobbytown last night, intending to do just that--but unfortunately, they didn't have any.
