Was there a model ever made of the family truckster used in the movie National Lampoons Family Vacation? I have always wanted to do a pro mod version of the crazy wagon, however I am unable to find any kits, from model companies or resin

There may have been a resin kit, but never in plastic. The car was just an old Crown Vic with some gaudy additions ,but I dont think they even made a police cruiser Crown Vic from that era that could be modified.

There was a 1/18 scale die cast announced but never made....yet. And like wise a resin kit was announced and it too has never come out. I have seen one scratchbuilt in contest coverage and IIRC it started life as a AMT 70 Ford police car kit. Maybe a 65 Chevy wagon for the long roof.
