Member id: enriquea19792012
3:21am 01/25/13. He buys, and pays for item. 11:36pm 01/25/13. I printed shipping label. 9:15am 01/26/13. I mailed the package. 11:22am 01/26/13. He filed an Unrecieved Item claim.
Now Pay-pal is holding my money until he recieves his item.

I don't understand why paypal is holding your money ? This guy filed a claim the day after it was marked shipped and they are okay with that ? Obviously a scam and you should report him to ebay immediately ! Putting him on your "no bid" list won't get your money .

Is there no one who works in these departments at ebay with any common sense?
When I first joined ebay, it seemed the sellers had all the power, which as a buyer kind of scared me a bit. Now it seems way to skewed toward the buyer's side.

Pay-pal took the tracking number, and assured me I'd get payed when he recieved the item. But still not cool... I won't be bidding on an item I was interested in without that payment... That's hurt another seller also. Thanks Pay-pal!

That's happened to me before, almost the exact same situation and why I don't sell on eBay anymore

If I understand correctly , Paypal has received the payment and is holding it until the post office scans the package as " Delivered ". An inconvenience , but it seems fair under the circumstances . Paypal does not police the auctions , they are a third party "Bank" of sorts . Ebay is in control of the auctions and responsible for stopping scams like this , but they won't know about it unless you report this buyer to them !

I would call paypal and tell them you have five days till the item arrives and should not with held funds. The shipping confirmation is your ticket incase he says he has not recieved it. You need to call E-bay also and tell them whats going on. Read ebay rules on mailing Items. Paypal is wrong here. Always state on your auctions that you have five to ten days to ship after payment has been recieved. This will stop any action from paypal.

Unfournately , this is an ALL TO people on these sites with "Pay pal " tie in's . I will not do business with either E- Bay or Pay pal as they seem to be in cahoots with one another and no regard for sellers who want to be honest .

Another interesting aspect from the selling side, if you print the shipping label through the ebay generated procedures, you get delivery confirmation and a tracking number which Bill obviously has. With this everyone involved should be able to assess the progress of this package including delivery.
It is very convenient not to have to stand in the line at the post office, and somewhere in the processing they scan in the bar code on the printed shipping label to initiate that they have the package and start the tracking.
Some folks insist on an extra step of having the post office scan the label and give them a receipt when they bring it in.
The other day at my post office a guy came in to do this, to find that the post office would charge him $1 for each receipt processed. New policy at the post office I guess, because even they acknowledged that they used to do this for free. Can't say I blame them, if you don't skip the line and time with the post office agent it doesn't make much sense.
So Bill what does the tracking number say about delivery? I'd be curious on how paypal holds your payment once delivery is confirmed with the ebay generated confirmation number!

You don't need to, the part you cut off of the printed label has all of that as an automatic record. I like this feature as a timesaver at the post office. I think it is waste all around to get another receipt in addition.

Paypal *IS* owned by ebay! Ebay bought paypal several years back. Does that explain anything ?
