The above model isn't mine. It was built by Mike McMahon, and it's really nice. www.showrods.com/gallery_pages/bathtub_buggy1.htmlBut I do have a hammered glue bomb in a zip lock bag. It's in a hundred pieces and really not worth restoring. I've kitbashed many rare and odd kits over the years, but this one has me stumped... I want to use some of the pieces, but don't care for the goofy wheels, engine, or some of the extra doo-dads. I had the bathtub in a dragster chassis, and it was just OK... never made it past that point. Another idea was to put most of the the bathroom stuff in the back of a Paddy Wagon and make a Potty Wagon... that's in the lead on what to do with it... But, I turn to you guys for inspiration and ideas... any thoughts on what else to do with it?

It is tough... I like the layout of the Bathtub, with the toilet up front and the dual tubs, as a hot rod, this one makes more sense. Barris' version is just a bunch of antiques stuck on a hoopty chassis... like a rolling yard sale. It sits too high, and has too much stuff for a clean design... and the suspension is goofy. I dunno..

use the Doyusha bathtub model and put the driver in the rear, tubs in the middle and the engine up front, or the engine up front and the driver in the middle.....
just my 2 cents...

Tub to the very front as c0ckpit ala pink panther dual side by side injected motors ala Ivo showboat (so that would be 4) sink and crapper at the rear (doll house accessories) don't forget the toilet paper

Brandon, that was just a turd to begin with! Pun intended! No real thought behind it. There is a thread on here buried by the years where we talked about this same thing. Bathroom fixtures thrown onto the top of a chassis might be construed as a showrod but it doesn't make it a good one. As for "The Bathtub" it didn't really need the toilet (but it definitely works). It might have been interesting if the designer had used a sink and cabinet as a radiator and put the steering up to the left Bathtub. I like your idea for the Potty Wagon best so far.

Maybe instead of making it prettier, just mongrel it up and call it the Potty Animal, could be a real stinker! (yeah I know but it was hard to resist)

I don't have the Doyshua one, I wish I did. I think I have one bathtub from that kit banging around one of my parts boxes... The double tubs as a cockpit would be good idea. The problem I have with the Potty Wagon is that I already built Paddy's Wagon, a rolling pub with Beer Wagon stuff.. I'd have to build almost the same thing with a different room in the back, though in theory they could park together. LOL... Another thought was to stuff all the bathroom stuff in a Vandal, but I don't really want to build a bathroom. I think as far as combining bathroom stuff and hot rods go, the Shower Power wheelstander probably nailed it... But I'm still up to the challenge of kitbashing the Bathtub Buggy... any more ideas, crappy or not?

Well, I couldn't leave well enough alone, so I drug it out and played with it for a while... did a little head scratching. Pure, rough, tape and stance mock up with junk parts... I tried to clean it up and give it more of a T-bucket feel and stance. With a new frame and a dropped axle it should sit right. Put the sink out front, use the lighted cowl, put the driver in the tub, use the shower bar like a roll bar, and put the dressing seat on the back with the chamber pot underneath... Big blown Hemi as usual, and use the P-trap headers to tie it all in. Put the little steps out like running boards on skinny brackets for a tidy appearance... What do you guys think?

I do like the shower power. But another thought is a t bucket frame with the tub on the back. Straight frame no kick up. Nothing else, just the tub, cool engine great wheels and nice grill. Simple and easy.

I like the Tub-bucket look you got there, Brandon! Reminds me of the Tijuana Taxi, too. It also gives me a few othe ideas: a Red Baron bash? A Little Tub? Bash with a Stinger for a Trick-Tub? Tub'rantula? How about two rear facing tubs on the back of a Beer Wagon, for a different kind of suds hauler? Brian

This is the coolest idea for a Bathtub Buggy that I've seen, apart from the little T-Bucket rod thing that Brandon made out of one on that page above

Brandon I like where that one is going, kind of a reverse shower power wheelstander. A rub-a-dub T bucket. Turn the sink upright, put some coffee filter mesh over the bowl and see how it looks as a radiator. Look at some pics of the Shower Power. I do like the wheelstanders.

Not sure what the story is with this, but it's cool! I'm guessing it was a bathtub at some point...
