That was a reissue kit but who really cares since it has Big Deal's signature on there. Pretty cool.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I wanted to mention that these do show up on eBay now and then and they are legit. Dave received a bunch of cases of the Zzzzz-28 kits as "compensation" for the 1996 reissue. To get rid of some of them he let me know that he would sign the kits and sell them to whoever wanted them. I put the word out to fellow collectors and I bought a case from him (I think there's 12 in a case, he signed 11 of them on the shrink and opened the 12th and wrote a really nice personal note to me on the bottom of the box). I know at least one other collector bought a case, beyond that I don't know how many more are out there. I donated one of mine to a contest on here a while back and still have the other 11. The other collector I mentioned has posted some of his on eBay, I'm not sure how many he's sold.

I received the one you donated for Ira's Car-toon contest, Tres, and you know I appreciate the prize, as well as Ira's inspiration for the contest. I'm usually a buy em and build em kind of guy, but that piece is keeping its wrap on and staying right there on MY shelf!!

Yep , mine is never getting opened either ! It's probably the only kit I've ever had that I can say that about , they all get opened eventually . And thanks Tres for confirming the signature , I was pretty sure it was legitimate .

Awesome, glad to hear it went to someone that appreciates it Yep , mine is never getting opened either ! You're welcome! Dave wasn't big on signing stuff, he just did it that time because he really wanted to get rid of some of those kits. I can't remember how many cases of those he had but it seemed like it was more than 10 (he only signed them when sold though). After he passed away Travis sent me another 2 cases of them (unsigned) just because he wanted to get rid of them! Those were all from the 1995 reissue, so he had been sitting on them a long time. Anyway, it's a nice thing to hold onto because there aren't a lot of his signatures out there!
