To clear up some misconceptions and address some concerns;
First and foremost, I am NOT an agent or representative for Billy Goochie Decals. Please DO NOT consider the comments you are about to read a reflection of Billy Goochie Decals opinion(s). Thay are soley MY OWN.
(A) My apologies for "miss posting" this thread, Paul. I DO feel that this information deserves a place FRONT & CENTER for EVERYONE to have access to. I'm not selling these decals (see above) It is a legitimate SOURCE for VINTAGE DECALS, not a "Sell, Trade, Swap" item.
(B) Good catch on the "For Reference", Brandon! YES, Billy Goochie Decals IS back in business!
(C) Geeze Ratrod, could you be any more scynical???
(D) Congratualtions to Groucho!!! He "GETS IT"!!!
I didn't "think" I would have to go into the whole back story on this Fantastic News (IMHO). I "thought" we were all adults here with the ability to do our own "due diligence". I also "vetted" this information before posting it, or I wouldn't have! So here goes....
I purchased a kit from Ebay and when it arrived, it didn't have the correct decals for the kit. (I didn't do my "due diligence" before bidding. My Bad! See how that works!!!) since this is a "semi rare" kit and the decals are IMPOSSIBLE to find, I contacted the seller and they asked if I would like a set of ALPS printed aftermarket decals, adding that Billy Goochie of Billy Goochie Decals was their Father and he had passed on all of the old files, supplies and ALPS printer to them. They also stated that if I am interested in any other "vintage decals" to let them know. They have the files on everything "Dad" did and just about anything else you could imagine. Naturally, I emphatically replied, "YES!!!" I received the decals in a timely manner and was blown away by the quality and accuracy! I immediately contacted the seller to let them know I had received the decals, was EXTREMELY pleased and would like to inquire about other sets. In short, this was the reply;
"I have taken over the decal making and look forward to all the business I can get. Small or big orders are no trouble. Big orders I'll offer discounts. Yes my dad had the best reputation for quality and fast service. I look to honor that. Here is a link to some of the decals I offer. If you don't see what you need? Please ask. public.fotki.com/rwildeone/model-reference/model-box-art-and-i/decal-scans/billy-gooche-decals/ Payments paypal is best, but will do money order or check. Thanks,Nikki"
This is the REAL DEAL guys!!! I'm a "Korporal Klown", not some newbie posting "LOOKIE HERE!!!", which "should" lend SOME validity to the post's credibility. Groucho got it right! Do your due diligence!!! Brandon also got it "partly right". The Fotki site is a REFERENCE site! NO, it hasn't been "updated" since 2007 - 2008, as far as the decal pics go. These are the original "Billy Goochie Decals" files! Unless I missed something somewhere along the way, "VINTAGE DECALS" haven't changed the way they look, so why "update" the images???!!!
Man O Man, Guys!!! I can't believe that with the interest and participation of modeling and model ProBoards falling off EVERYWHERE (Several have even gone the way of the Doh-Doh) this post would be received with such skepticisim (or treated with such disregard [Paul])! AGAIN, THIS IS A LEGITIMATE SOURCE FOR VINTAGE DECALS!!! The way I see it, ANYTHING that will keep this "art form" & hobby (as well as the related Pro Boards) alive is a DAMN GOOD THING!!! Quit cutting your noses off to spite your faces!
Email "Nikki" directly! I assure you, you'll be thrilled with their product!!!
Respectfully.... "Paulie"

I actually hope Nikki does well in rejuvenating the Gooche decal business It sounds like you got a good product. I however have a lot of decals from the original effort and can say that they are hit or miss. When Billy was pumping out decals non stop, what I have discovered is, he scanned many originals without regard to decal shrinkage. So many sets of 1/25th decals are better suited to 1/27th. (I have a never completed Kalitta Bounty Hunter right here in front of me that took some creative slicing/splicing to reach the point it currently sits) Then there were the sets I tried using that are simply water resistant. ( no amount of soak time will ever release the decals from the backing paper ) oh, and the ones that turned the water all different colors because they weren't coated correctly... well those just stopped me from buying Gooche decals forever But again, if NEW decals are being printed CORRECTLY, then I think Nikki is on to something that would be very beneficial to the model community. What I have in my collection is pretty much pieces of paper with pretty colors, and will wait to see how the new Nikki Gooche endeavor fairs with modelers.

I can't speak to Paul's experience with Billy Gooche Decals. I do know his experience is contrary to the feed back I have heard from a number of other "original" Billy Gooche customers.
I can also report that the sheet I received is correctly scaled to the kit for which it was intended, the decals worked FLAWLESSLY and, in fact, are probably the best decals I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They "release" easily and predictably (as long as you follow the recommendations of warm water, a drop of dish soap and about 10 seconds in the solution. ). There was not even a hint of "the water turning all different colors". The decals slid off of the backing paper easily & without tearing. They remained "workable" for as long as you want them to be, as long as you keep a bit of fluid under them. They didn't bunch and they blotted dry with a single sheet of TP gently dabbed on them, without lifting or transfering ANY color. Maybe it's just modern materials, modern technology or maybe I was just "lucky" but that doesn't really hold water, since Nikki is using the original files and ALPS printer and had no way of knowing whether a set of Spirit of '76 decals (w/gold foil trim upgrade, BTW, NICE TOUCH!) would be defective or not. Who knows the last time there was a request for those? The only variable is "modern" decal paper.
I have also heard from others, who have ordered since this post, that Nikki's "turn around" time is fast, usually within 3 days of payment.
A QUALITY Vintage Decal source with reasonable prices and fast turnaround is a tri-fecta in my book, so please forgive me, Brandon, if I seemed a little aggravated that valuable & important information was/is being so cavalierly disregarded.
It's all good. He who snoozes, looses.
For those of you with a more positive, less skeptical outlook, here's the email address for Billy Gooche Decals one more time. Tire Burner <poppawheelie65@yahoo.com> (Nikki is who you are writing to.)
Kind Regards to ALL! "Paulie"

Actually WAY back in the day I sold all my finished and "work in progress" artwork to Wendell Sowers ... Wendell then sold it off to "Gooche".. in the early days (and I'm talking WAY back) when ALPS first came out.... i'm thinking Some of this artwork and others may have been printed and sold "as is" before the finalization was completed ... I'm sure this has long been corrected..

I got my Bugaboo decals this weekend ,and I have to say they look great -clear images, and the colors look good .At least they are a match to the originals unlike the reissued kit. It will be a while before I need them so I wont be able to give you the application details , but so far so good !

Paul, I bought a set of decals for the Muldowney Road Runner and got the Kalitta Mustang. They didn't correct it back then so I discontinued my purchases. I would have agreed with the hit and miss for sure. Chuck, that may explain some of the decals I had bought. Some looked like they used the scans as is and didn't clean up the clarity on them. I was trying to think of which they were but I can't remember honestly. Sounds like the sibling has things in place and going well.
