Like the shade of the rommels rod and for whatever reason really don't want to paint it . If I was to gloss coat put the decals on then gloss coat thin to blend them in and then start the weathering process using testors gloss in a can I think it's lacquer? Would I be able to use oil and enamel weathering products? I don't know what do you think? Just a thought

You'll want to finish your clearcoating with a shot of Dullcoat before you start weathering. Testors has both lacquer and enamel clear, you want to be sure and use the Lacquer based gloss clear (Wet look), I'm fairly sure Testors Dullcoat only comes in lacquer. The rule is, "Enamel over Lacquer, never lacquer over enamel". Lacquer will 'attack' enamel. Oil and enamel detail paints will be fine over the Dullcoat lacquer.
