I've seen a lot of stuff, car-wise, but this one caught me off guard. Apparently firemen take their fire drills VERY seriously, and some of their "firetrucks" are modified gassers and drag cars... Pretty impressive, and I'm fascinated by the machinery.
Two Willys and a Henry J....
These guys weren't playing around....

I was in the Oyster Bay Atlantic Steamers in 1970 to 75. This was one of our "trucks" ex Ram Chargers Spec Dart. Set up to the 800 foot run. Paul

The Dart is a C rig there is a B rig based on a 1 ton chassis. Both covered by NHRA Drag Fire Truck rules. The Vette still is run in tournaments.

Brandon, you have lived a sheltered life for a car guy. They used to show these races on ESPN many years ago. Great Stuuf! Thanks for posting.

Paul, I think you are right. IIRC all of the tournaments I saw on TV were in NY, Maybe Chicago? Chuck or Jim might know.
