One of my favourite places to visit in the summer is Coney Island - it's about 30 minutes by train from where I am in NY and it's got a cool amusement park with rides, killer hot dogs and a nice big beach. Oh, and a cool old roller coaster, called the Cyclone, which is 90 years old this year. It runs on a wood and metal track, and still uses the old wooden cars from back when it was build. I got to thinking - has anyone ever build a showrod using a roller coaster car before? So, I spent a few hours messing around in Photoshop on the computer today, thinking of ideas...use the car as a tub for a rear engined rail, make the rails out of roller coaster track, have a big high exhaust right behind the passengers for ultimate 'wake you up-ability'...and here's what I came up with. Excuse my graphic art skills, by the way... I'd ride it! I might just have to build it, actually....

Thats a fantastic idea.... It would be a killer show rod, and a theme I have never seen or heard of before.... Should go well with the Popcorn Wagon perhaps... Start building

GREAT idea!!!! -NOT my build, but from your pictures of the actual 'Coaster.. why not make the second row of seats slightly elevated above the front seats? This would allow you to raise the rear up a bit, and STILL have the rear engine placement, and with it all, move the front forwards just a tad...... You actually could get the mill to fit UNDER the rear seat..... Which would still raise the seat above the front seat, and catch the same effect..... Raking the cars stance just a little!

Which with the rear seat raised would create that effect.... And still allow the things you were looking into, rear engine, and such, plus allow you to give it a slight racked look as a show rod would be....
