Hi guys I was thinking that it would be nice - for inspiration for many of us, I think - to have a thread with "miscolored" showrods. We all know the "correct" color for most showrods, the color shown on the box. The Bad Medicine is allways black or maroon, the Ice-T is yellow, and so forth... I allways like it when somebody goes out of the box, and give the model a completely different look. So guys, please post some of your not-box-stock-colored show rods I`ll start with a couple... I forget who it was, but I remember seeing an old thread on here about someone who found a (factory) gold-chromed Beer Wagon (I think?). I forget the story, but all the bits that would usually be yellow were gold!

I forget the story, but all the bits that would usually be yellow were gold! Actually the entire kit was Gold Plated . It was some kind of promotional give away to hobby shops that Monogram made in very limited numbers . The one that was posted here belongs to scaledetail who is no longer a member .

Really like that Barris "Ice Cream" Truck. Lovely color combo, the pink is so much better than box art red.

Not quite the same theme but sometime back I had a couple of Li'l Coffin kits. Rather than the usual maroon or near purple, I had one moulded in orange and another in blue plastic. These were the Mattel(70's?) issues with the 'Haunted House' box art.
