This month I took a road trip to Bonneville for Speed Week, a life-long dream. On the way there and back, I stopped at a few museums, took lots of photographs and saw lots of cars, parts, memorabilia and more, including show rods The Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska has lots of race stuff and last year took possession of Darryl Starbird's museum including all his cars and other bits. They have a showcase full of Darryl's things which include two models that I built and gave to Darryl many years ago. They also have a floor full of pedal cars, diecast cars and tin toys, a few thousand.

The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky has the history of Corvette and a special feature of cars from Carl Casper.

If you have never been to either museum and you get the chance, go, you will be happy you did

Howard, this is inspiring, but you need to warn us that these two links host around 1,200 photos! For my part, I'll view most of them in the evening when the misses abandons me for her latest murder mystery book. After Christmas, I will drive my 2021 Mustang from Milwaukee/Mequon to Mesa, AZ where we hide for the winter til May 1. Your story here has inspired me to route my trip through Lincoln to see this now-expanded museum and Starbird's displays. As for Corvettes, well, owning one has been a 44-year dream of mine. As it so happens, I'm on the list at two dealerships to order a 2024 C8 Stingray convertible. I won't take museum delivery in Bowling Green, but I will get there in late 2024 for sure. Thanks for the tips and photos!
