I would say that 1 out of every 8 new kits I buy is for parts.

send the wheels to Brandon. Those three "Thingie kits" were modified from old MPC rods. I think Both the "Wilhlem's Wonder, aka Wild Dream" and the Don Tognotti's "King T" were donors to the Thingies. Not sure what else was used, or which kit was which. Here is a Link to "Wild Dream/King T" www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/wild_dream.html

I've bought an AMT '25 Model T roadster kit to replace some bad & missing parts in my Laurel & Hardy kit (the eBay seller said it was complete) ... I've got enough model T parts to probably build 3 more Ts!
Also bought a 2nd Chuck Wagon to use on the Popcorn Wagon, as AMT screwed up the tires on the kit.

Absolutely cool to buy kits for parts, especially when the kits are on sale cheap!

Wheels, engines, and everything else. Every kit is a parts kit, as far as I'm concerned.

I have bought cars by the case just for parts. Examples being cars with TUBS, Various scales of Pro Stock for the chassis/tin combos, Cars with cool wheels since a kit is about the same price as aftermarket wheels, Polar lights funny cars for the double sets of wheels and frames to make other cars of the era. I probably have about 150 kits just for parts.

It's not a bad kit. It is good for parts though. The extra skulls, you can hang from your rearview mirror, ala Falfa's 55. Yes, I buy kits just for parts.

I would say I buy 9 out of 10 kits for parts. I think that in the past 4 years I've bought and built three kits from the box: The Hemi Hunter, the High Roller 4x4 Camaro, a Sand Piper.. The rest I buy just for parts. I actually prefer to buy glue bombs and bagged parts lots like at the NNL... A kitbasher is only as good as their parts.

I bought 5 or 6 of them at $4.00 each at K-Mart when they were discontinued. Hard to beat that.

Hey Charlie, K-mart sells model kits? the one in my area hasn't carried models in almost 10 years, I wish they still carried them, all we have is wal mart ( they suck ) , hooby lobby ( mediocre selection) , Hobbytown ( I hate that place ), and a handful of hobbyshops at least 30 min away
