... really the Tom Daniel / Monogram Badman under a new name and packaging (and not mentioning Tom)? Used my 50% off Michaels coupon to pick one up last night, as my wife was going nuts that they had Halloween stuff on sale for 80% off. Are there any real huge changes in the kit (other than the decals)? Looks like a fun build for sure ... after struggling with my '97 AMT Shelby Cobra Mustang (for a club project), something nice and fun is what I want next!

The Revell 55 street burner kit I saw was the old Pro-Mod kit and has nothing to do with Badman....but might make a neat Badman II!!!

That's what I thought to Dave. Wasn't the 55 the Sof Seal car or was that the 57., hmm! I'll have to check.

Yep, Dave is right!! The Street Burner kit is a straight reissue of the older Charles Carpenter Pro-Mod in 1/25, not 1/24. The kit also features a slightly chopped body. This one also isn't in any way a streetable car, no exhaust, slicks instead of treaded street meats etc.

Thanks! The Badman II sounds like a fun idea ... I thought this might have been too good to be true, when looking at the kit and the scale on the box said 1/24 ... still should be fun to build!

PM sent Scurv ......... If you want to save yourself some work replicating the Badman III, hit Scuzzo up about one of his resin bodies... graphics from DecalDan. Besides the obvious front end and spoiler mods, it also features extended side sills and more '55-shaped rear wheel openings.

if you're looking for a badman style 55 chevy...pick up the revell 55 chev street machine. it's the badman molded in black with different rims, a full grill and street tires. the badman header dumps, moon tank, chin spoiler, open grill and of corse decals are not in the 55 chev street machine kit. it does have the clear hood scoop, same blown small block engine (even tho the badman decals say 396...the engine is really a small block). michaels here has a ton of them...and i have the same 50% off coupon that you used....actually i have 2 of those coupons.

Thanks Rob -- THAT'S the one I meant!! I got the name of the kit wrong. The instructions are a give-away as well ... Revell changed a few things on the instructions but the artwork is obviously Monogram style! I might have to pick up a 2nd kit, just for the heck of it.

the 55 chev street machine kit woudl be easy to turn into a 2 lane blacktop 55. you'd have to radius the rear fenderwells more, remove the side trim, and make it a tilt front end.

they have a few 55's by revell monogram, then there's the new one, the 2 in 1 coupe?, it is supposed to be 1/25th scale.
Badman and the street machine are basically the same kit, with the exception of the rims, tires, and decals, the pro mod is the older issue from the 90's when it had the correct decals for the one that was being raced, they had a 57 chevy, a 56 ford and a 58 plymouth all promods.
then they had the 55 convertible, I have never owned this kit, so I do not know if it was new tooling, or if it was a rehash based on the old chassis.
Charlie, A.J. and Rob told me about the old 3 in 1 55 chevy that the street machine and badman were based off of.
it would be neat to see that old tooling again from what I hear there was some neat parts in it.
if anyone has the new 2 in 1 coupe, let me know how it is, I am tempted to get it.
take care George
