...and then Pegleg asked this morning about woodgrain advice. Hale was talking to me about problems with making the jacket on his "Davey" biker build look like leather, and I gave him a tip on that the other night. I think it might be a good idea to have a post on "How to make better models" for everyone to share tips on. Maybe put it in the "In-Progress", or even make it's own little slot if Paul can do that.
I know Fred's how-to on drybrushing REALLY helped me, far superior to my own archaic methods, and the first time I used it I was thrilled with my results!
We're all never to old to learn as far as I'm concerned. What do you guys think?

Brilliant!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D P.S.--to make the coat look like leather.....just use dru-brushing technique. ;D Michael my son painted the pirate with dry-brushing (he is 15 yrs old) and I did the Mr. Gasser. Dry-brushing will just bring out he folds and details of the coat. Leave flat for worn look or you can seal with a clear gloss for a new leather look.

This forum can use a section for how-tos, and there are a good number of members that have some good tips and ideas. I been fighting the woodgrain issue for a whole. I have a Lil' red express truck I was wanting to do. I didn't want to use the decals for that as I wanted to pick up the molded in detail. I have done the leather look thing before on figures, that one is easy enough to do. Those other detail effects do look spot on as well in those shots.

Maybe we can just start a thread, and everyone interested can "bookmark" it? (That is one of the tiny functions this site will do....) I'll just do that in a minute........... ;D

It's true... I'd like to see more participation in the Bad NEws section... little helpful tips and tricks... like stripping paint with CSC... that comes up quite a bit.
