...of my daily driver. In the last few months, I put on some bigger rear tires on (Sticky Mickeys) and new front tires (Volkswagen). New shocks cleaned up the ride a bit, and I just gave it a complete tune with new plugs and lines oil, etc; I took the hood back off. I always liked it better without it. I can live with the A/C line showing I guess! This thing has been takin' me to work everyday for 7 years with only one breakdown, right across the street from my shop when the fuel pump took a poop on me the first month I got it on the road! It still isn't finished, but my wife and I care going to do a bit of home upholstery work on it soon. Oh yeh, I finished a new Ratfink hood ornament on put that on there to replace the old skull! LOL. It was nice this weekend, so it actually got a bath! Click here for a short video: s92.photobucket.com/albums/l35/Finktim/Tims%20Duece%20Coupe%20Daily%20Driver/?action=view¤t=MVI_6706.flvTurn your volume up LOUD on the video..................

She's a beaut! You're lucky to have her Tim! (I apologise if you get these questions a lot, or have answered them here before but....) What's the intake setup? Is that the size of your tank? You must be filling it every day! What's the deal with the exhaust pipes? look kinda odd A checkerboard firewall would set off the engine bay nicely! My interrogation ends here (I'll put the spotlight away for now) Martin

Whoa. Nice ride. What does "...must be a new 55 in town.." mean? I miss mine. Sold it for $175 in '80. Yeah, $175. Sigh.

A new 55' in town is referring to Bob Falfa's 55 chevy that raced John Milners Duece coupe in the movie American Graffitti.
Martin, the intake is an aluminum Edelbrock with one big Holley double pumper on top, with a Holley dual sidedraft air cleaner.
There's a 12 gallon fuel tank tucked under the rear, the Moon tank has coolant in it.
The hotrod headers are called "Limefire's". They can be uncapped (shown here) in about 5 minutes, but normally aspirate out the back (note single tube running straight down under body). There's 3 inch tubing to a couple of Flowmaster cans back there, tipped with some 4 inch chromed ends exiting just behind the tires. A buddy of mine bent all the pipes for me, and did a great job. He also made the turnout ends for the Limefires so the paint didn't get blistered off the body! (They are ceramic coated, but they get REALLY hot! Skin removers....)

love it with the new tires tim. you should consider a multi-carb setup or a blower. 3 deuces would look schweet, but 6 deuces would be awesome. but, i'm not the one who has to fill the gas tank....lol. i just love that car tim.

I've always wanted to do a blower motor Rob, but right now, it ain't in the budget. I'm getting about 8-10 mpg if I keep my foot out of it now! (hard to do ;D) Fortunately, I drive about 8-1o miles a day too, so it's not too bad. It won't run for sh*t on anything but high octane, so it's costing me a bit more, but I can live with it!

Awesome car you have Tim!!!!!! And driving it every day, Respect man!!!! some of my friends own hot rods, but none of them are using them as daily drivers. It's an expensive hobby in Europe, American car parts are costing a fortune! I bought a new steering wheel from Moon eyes at a bargain, paid $57 for the wheel, $68 !!!!!! for shipping the damn thing, and when the mail man delivered it I had to pay $61 taxes!!!! My old lady wasn't happy ;D

Funny you ask Joe, because I have been thinking more about that lately. I have a couple of friends who have been dragging garage built drag cars to a strip about an hour South of here, and I thought it might be fun to do. People always ask me what it will turn in the quarter, and I have no idea. It is quick, but not sure how quick!
My tranny has been slipping a bit lately though, so until I get a look around it, I'm not going to go down. That's all I need is to destroy it and get stranded!

Great car Tim! You are living my dream. I always thought it would be so cool to have a nice duece to use as my daily driver. Keep it simple, nothing too exotic, not a lot of chrome...basically your car. Unfortunately, living in NJ I couldn't use it for close to half the year. Add to that I've never worked closer than 50 miles from home and...well you get the idea. Enjoy it buddy, and know there is at least one guy out there candy green with envy!

That's soooo awesome that you drive it daily, too. And why not? they are cars, after all. Does it help with business at all?

It's become kind of a landmark in town. It sit's in front of our building in a tiny triangular parking spot that nothing else would fit in. We are right smack on Rt. 1, which runs thru all of the towns here for many miles, so thousands of cars pass it daily. Folks can easily find my car by mentioning it in directions, it's even in my ads. All the local cop's wave at me every morning as they sit running radar in thier usual spots.
The bad thing is I can't go to the titty bar without getting caught... ;D
