well guys, i didn't get very many still pics...just a few. i took alot of short video, which ate up most of the room on my memory cards. but anyway, here are the few still pics that i did get. it was a BLAST !!! the destroyer 57 chevy broke a shock after landing a big jump. we were so close, that we were able to hear the shock snap (got that on video too, with the snapping shock sound). it still amazes me how high and far they can get these 10,000 lb. trucks to jump. there was so much action. i couldn't tell you all of it. grave digger, the destroyer, brutus and maximum destruction WERE the show. i was going to post some of the video to youtube, but i don't know if there is any copyright stuff i need to worry about or not. what year is the convertable on the top of that stack ?? there were actually 2 full size chevy vans under the bottom cars in the pic. so they were stacked 4 high. yep, they destroyed all of em !! maximun destruction with tom mentz...right in front of us. grave digger getting ready to launch. grave digger and the teenage mutant ninja turtle. the safe auto truck. that white pile of rubble, is what's left of the stack of cars in the first pic....and they all got smashed more than this. a little something i've been working on. it's a 1:10 scale remote control truck. it started as a stadium truck, but i turned it into what you see here. it's fast, and does great jumps.

I caught the last part of the monster trucks on the Speed Channel Sunday night, from Jacksonville ... was this the show??!? I couldn't believe how far & high Grave Digger went after going up the dirt hill, but the rest of it was pretty wild!! Much more so than the last few ones I've paid to go see here.

A lot ofthe shows you see on Speed have been taped months in advance. But it is still COOL to watch. Call me old fashion but I still like the original styled monsters with the leaf springs and military axels. There is NO WAY they could do the stuff they are now though

Tom Mentz is my personal favorite Rob!!! ( Maximum Destruction)...I bet it was a killer show!!!! how Did your Boy like it? he loved it. he was all smiles the entire time. yeah, tom mentz adds a little more crazy to the show...he's one of the best. ever notice, max. destruction is the only one with the engine in the front ? the smell of alcohol was in the air (the fuel...not booze) and everything that was in the way got smashed. if you've never been to see this live, you need to. it's somethign that you'll never forget, and it's just amazing what they can do with these things.

That car looks like a 1950 oldsmobile. I'm sure it was a junker, but I still hate to see old cars getting wrecked. I'm sure you guys had a great time, my son and I had a blast when we went last year. Big trucks, cars and stuff getting smashed ,what more could you ask for !!

I don't know about in Indy, but here in CT. any junk 50 olds would be in a lot worse shape than that one - the headlights would have fallen out of them for sure . I have an old hot rod magazine from the early 80's that has a pic of the first gravedigger. it was a real steel ford panel truck, painted grey and violet .All it had on the side was "gravedigger" on the panels.

actually, the gravedigger started life as a mudbogger. dennis anderson said that everyone was making fun of his old truck, and he said "i'll take this junk and dig you a grave". and that's where the name came from.
