98% of drivers say "Oh, sh*t!!" when they hit a patch of ice and head towards the ditch. The other 2% are from Ohio and say, "Hold my beer and watch this." ......says the transplant from Ohio.

What a RIOT! ! ! Hotdog-donuts in the snow. . . . in the wiener mobile . .
I wish they made a 1/24 scale kit of this. . . I would love to have this in the collection. . .. I guess start sculpting! ! ! !

They do make a 1/24 kit of it. I had one and sold it. They are not that old. Go e-bay, bud. I've seen them in prostreet form. Have fun.

Who wrote that article ? Some of that could be taken the wrong way - " it was the first time he pulled a weiner out ,and it was the first for the women too " ? Or maybe my mind is in the gutter again !

Nah, I thought some of it was a bit TOO laced with innuendo to be accidental too...

Questions I would have are 1) did he pull out to early? 2) was it skinless? Ya I know I'm bad...

Look what I found looking for a model kit of this baby. . . How COOL! I wonder how many versions there are for this ride? ? ?? Brooks Steven's site "There's nothing more aerodynamic than a wiener," Stevens once remarked when asked about his most endearing design, the Wienermobile. While he did not originate the promotional vehicle-the Oscar Mayer Company of Madison, Wisconsin, came up with the idea in 1936 - Stevens did create the classic shape of the famous frank when commissioned to redesign it in 1958. His main contribution, as he put it, "was to put the wiener in the bun." Previously the vehicle had been a low, inelegant truck with a giant hot dog riding atop it. Taking advantage of the possibilities of molded fiberglass construction, Stevens transformed the lower section into the sculptural form that it is today. mam.org/exhibitions/_sites/brooks/photos.asp?id=16

I have the Weinermobile bank, as well as an old weiner whistle thats shaped like it. Did you guys know that Harry Bradley has had a hand in designing these things over the years? (Please tell me you know who Harry Bradley is........?)

WOW I was thinking about those banks. . .and if the real car is 27 feet long. . .. the bank is in close scale. . . well close enough. . .. I might have to create one. . . . . . but I have three on the table now that will be completed. . . .first . . . four in stalled projects (still stalled). . . .and my fourth project is going to be a TD build restore stock build. .. no alterations!
But who doesn't love the wienermobile. . . and I love this old version. . . and I would love to find an image of the original truck with the wiener in the back! There has to be a book out there somewhere! . . . I might just call one of these collectors and pick their brain on their knowledge!
Thanks FLOUNDER! ! !

Ohh OHH Mr Kotter.....
He designed the Hard Hat Hauler, the Califorian, Jolly Rodger, and a couple other of our 275 favs. Do I get a prize?
A drawing he did inspired the shortened 33 Willys delivery in the gallery. One of my favorite designers.
