there's been some talk about making your own decals lately. i just bought the testors decal maker for $8. it's not all that bad but i wouldn't pay more than that .while you can change the colors and numbers that are in it you need to upgrade another $10 to import your own images .if anyone is interested I'm gonna try it this weekend and let you know the quality

I didn't even use the software they gave with it. I pulled my images off Google and printed them! It works good! Just don't get too carried away on the clearcoats. Just a couple light coats works best, and it won't make them bleed. (red has a tendency to do it worst) Here's a few I did...... It's not bad for the cost I guess, but I just bought 15 sheets of Papillo paper off ebay for 10 bucks! Now I can do a ton!

I printed everything on regular paper first, then adujusted accordingly. The lettering I did on my challenge build worked real nice. I sized it up a few times and held it against the car body until it was just right. This is amazingly not hard!

Tim, those look really crisp! What kind of ink and printer do you have? I used an Epson CX3200 they looked good on regular paper but blurry on the decal sheet. Any tips?

Dave, you might want to wipe your decal paper with some alcohol first and then once you have printed coat with clear, black is the color that likes to run,you can also in your print program adjust paper size so you don't have to print a whole sheet at once, here is some i have done.

Bought 3 of the Testors decal kits at WalMart when they got out of the modelling business ($1 apiece) and it seems to work well. Dont use their software, I use my paint program but you could use any graphic prg even a word processor.

I made some for the Boss Rig... clear coated them and it worked fine. I also played around with sizing on regular paper first. I did all of my layouts in Adobe photoshop and illustrator.

I just used my Microsoft Works for layout. I printed them on my HP PhotoSmart photo printer, and it worked just fine! (Normal ink setting too)
