I found this recently while going through some of my old stuff that my parents dropped off at my house. I guess you got this when you joined the newsletter club. Somehow it survived all these years in perfect shape. Does anyone remember getting one ?  |

Never seen one of those before, but I got a nice tee shirt from Revell at IPMS Telford which read "I'm a Top Model (Maker)" ;D

I had a patch something like that Master modellers' Club one, but I think mine was round.

Yep! I made it to "Grand Master Modeler", which I believe involved building 100 kits. They had a kool newsletter, (I believe it's Harley who has a bunch of them), and you got some little tools like a clamp and a glue aplicator and such, as well as a certificate. It was all pretty kool for a kid!

I love it, your a Master Modeler but the patch shows you brushing the paint on the car...ahhh the good ole days.

Oh yea, I was a member and a Master Modeler (think I had around 150 kits built up). The glue applicator was used all the time ... the clamps weren't much, but used them on some things. Nice newsletter. Wish I had saved all of those ...think they were given out at garage sale when I had sold off most of my models years ago.
Between that club and the Model of the Month club (mostly Aurora stuff that I remember), it was a great time to be a kid into models!

Ah heady days indeed! I made it to a Grand Master Modeller and was over the moon when my name appeared in the magazine, especially as I never saw another name from the UK!
I've been collecting those magazines for years and (shameless plea) if anyone has any they don't need or want to trade, PM me now! I've got about half the total run and reckon at the current rate of accumulation, I'll have the full set about half an hour before I peg out. All help in speeding up the process gratefully received.

What? was I the only guy that entered his name and never got it in print ? I remember waiting for each issue to see if my name got put in and reading those long lists over and over just in case I missed it, but no dice. I think I got the newsletter for a couple of years, but if I got put on the list, it way after I stopped getting them.
If anyone still reads the old issues and comes across my name , let me know- it would be cool to see if I ever got on the list !

Ah, yes- my name is the same as my name on the left corner, except back then I was Donald Culley

I picked up several of those Revell Get it Together newsletters the other day. They are from 1973. Let me know if you need me to look for your name in that time frame.

Man, look for mine too! I submitted that stuff a bunch of times! I'm pretty sure I made the list somewhere! I'd have to say maybe between 73 and 75? Did they make it that long? That would be way kool to have a copy!

I'm sure I was in the club from 1973 -75 , maybe into 1976 . I know I wasn't in them by 1974, so the 73's probably wouldn't have me in there. It would be cool to find my name in one of those. I'm going to look at the few I have and see if I recognize any of the guys on this site !
