come on guys can't you spot the reason why this didn't go for really big money ? it's the fact that you have to glue the roof on. had the roof been molded to the body...$500.00 easy.....lol i don't get it. i need to find a buy or 2 like this for some of the junk i have.

Yesterday the AMT kit Cal Drag Team with the falcon and 64 Ford went for 766 Maybe we can get the new AMT to release all the triple kits and get rid of these insane prices. DJ

Motorcycle parts didn't cost a few cents originally though?. Ed Roth was asked to comment on collector prices being charged, he couldn't understand why people would pay $100 bucks for 90c worth of plastic?? Prices now are far more expensive. (if ever we can get kits in the UK ever again), companies who used to import into UK, complain about high exchange rates/taxes/and container shipping costs.

Well, I made a corporate decision a few weeks back to sell off some of my kits. When you look at the big picture, I have more kits than I could probably build in 2 lifetimes, so it's kind of dumb to sit on this stuff when it's going big bucks. I've so far managed to part with maybe a grand in kits. I sold two old Monogram TD bike kits for almost 500 bucks, and I just sold an original Roth Mailbox Chopper for 175.00. That one I cant figure out, because of the reissue, and the fact that I listed it right before the reissues hit the shelves, and could not get one bid on it! Go figure? I still have two of the reissued ones, which is fine for me!

Well , to play the devils advocate, I can see someone paying 300.00 for that kit. Its a 40 year old annual kit. I know that may not seem old for must of us,but when I look at my five year old son and think that I was his age in 1966 ,I know 40 years is a looong time ! I've never seen one come up on ebay before, and its not the usual fastback, but a coupe. If you're a guy that has one original or restored, it would be cool to have a kit in your collection of fairlane stuff . If theres two guys that can afford the kit and want it bad enough, who know what it could go for ? On a similar note, a while ago I found a 73 duster 340 promo car in mist green, which is the same color my 340 car is.Its kind of a rare color as it wasn't popular, and in the 25+ years I owned the real car, I'd never seen a mist green promo. The guy wanted 275.00 firm for it, and wouldn't bargain. I almost walked away until my friend said " you've never seen one before, and its just like your car- when do you think you'll find another ?" I bought it and never regretted it !

300 bucks??? Hell, I have spent at least a few thousand on parts I didn't even use on my bubbletop. Ha Ha Ha
If you look at it in that kind of perspective, it doesn't seem so bad.
