This started out as a Revell 1956 Chevy Del Ray kit. I cut the body in half and wedged it so that its narrower in the front. I then grafted the bubble top from a sillouette onto it and got some putty on it. I still have a TON of work to do but its coming along alright I guess. My only question is, how do I sand stuff completly smooth in hard to reach places because Im having trouble with the sratchbuilt trunk lid and the scoops that are beside it. Also I havent decided on a backend treatment yet..ANy suggestions would be appreciated. The name for this one is ENVIOUS because it will be a lime green flake paintjob when its complete.. Let me know what you think and remember the body work isnt anywhere complete yet.. THanks and here it is with the front glass in the bubble Does this classify as a showrod?

Interesting build! I've got a few bubble-topped builds in the works as well. To sand in small, concave spaces, I will usually wrap sandpaper around a dowel, and sometimes I sand the end round if I need to really get in somewhere tight.

If that doesn't make "showrod" status, I dunno what will!!! Nice job. Wanna do my De-bird XP-18 when you're done?

Cool car either way in my opinion, although some people are show rod only, not me, I build them all, that is cool and original

Worked on it last night... Got some 57 Chevy tail fins and quarter panels along with Lamborghini diablo side scoops grafted into the body.. If I get the body work smoothed out tonight, I will post pics tomorrow.

J-Man, Awsome build going there Dude! You rank inthe top ten newbies here in my book, I love to see what goes on in the heads of fellow builders and your work is another fine example of what happens out there in the "World of Modeling!" Checking out your "style" on that body work shows that what I have planned for my 66-06 Mustang build is gonna work out just fine! Thanks for the inside work and keep hammering the plastic Dude! Thanks! Later, Russ ;D

Trust me, Jason... not every one of my ElCamino style builds has a full bed, either... that's what tonneau covers are for. Just build up a proper lip and cover it with a tonneau. Unless you're going for full detail on the underside, nobody will know.

Well, I got the tonneau cover figured out, started the body work on the rear and added dual slanted headlights on each side of the front. Im gonna work on it more this weekend and post some new updated pictures of it.
