It's coming along great Dave!!! I really thought some cool fogging would've looked awesome on this one, but again, it's not mine...lol. I have an AMT '53 ford Pickup kustom that I started many years ago, chopped top, canted front fenders, Chevy rear fenders, pancaked hood, etc. For some reason, this build has sparked my interest in finishing that one, and now that my building & painting skills have improved, I can do it as I always wanted......pearl white, w blue pearl fogging....Hmmm, now where is it? Can't wait to see how you finish this one!!!

This is sweet, what chassis are you using under it. I am thinking of doing something similar, but with a old scrap AMT 57 chevy body
Cheers

When it comes time to finally fit the bubble to the body, haven't decided on a white or purple ring around the bottom rim. I'd suggest a CHROME ring around the bubble-base! It'll lighten the whole thing up and make a great match to a heavily chromed engine! Just my 2c

Well, as your personal paint advisor, it looks like you wnet the route we talked about the other night, and it looks magnificent Dave! I think if you were going to fog it at all, you should have done it previous to the decaled flames, but I don't think it needs it. Maybe some purple pearl powder in your clear coat? Just a hint would give it that "flip-flop" and set it off nicely. The purple interior components and bed cover should really set it off too! It is a bit stark along the bottom, and maybe if you could fog the bottom edge without overspraying your decals would look kool. Another masterful job!

Forgot to mention, in regards to the starkness across the bottom, I agree, but it's gonna have Lakes Pipes and I think this will set it off nicely. I am going to shoot it with a pearl, I have to locate some purple tinted pearl.

Well Dave! I love the shape, the grille's Front and back end, the bubble top....but I never envisioned purple and white seaweed-ish flames???for such a sexy curvacious body I think the whole thing loos a little stark...Maybe the lake pipes will fill in the bottom of the body, if you angle them in a lil' coffin kinda way? I still love this feller! and you've done an incredible job! but fior some reason I either saw it with a fade, or with roth-inspired panel job...something that would accentuate the fins and curves a little more...
But that's just me, and I aint building it! dispite my opinion s on the paint job (wich is infact well done!) it looks brilliant! I'll more then likely love it when I see where you're going with it?

What kind of motor is planned? The Beatnik Bandit V8 would be killer with the old blower and Strombergs, or a multi-carbed Caddy.. or... a Hilborn-injected Red Ram Hemi.... Please tell me you are keeping the running gear period-perfect...

DAve and I were crackin' up on the phone today at the number of motor cubic inches added up to 13! Hilarious! He's using the Chevy 409 by the way, for pure nostalgia's sake! Whatever he uses, this promises to be awesome!
