Why is it some nights everything just goes wrong. I've been doing clean up on the Uncertain C to get it ready for the Grand National Roadster Show this weekend (I hope you are not all sick of this thing.) Last night went well...tonight not so good. I masked off the roof to repaint it and rushed the paint and laid the flat black on too thick and got dirt in it. The alternator broke off when I was adding header flanges and I could not get the super glue to stick to get it back on. I started making a steering box and finally decided to give up and post some new pics from last night's work. Hosted on FotkiI'll try again tomorrow night. I updated the site for now. public.fotki.com/Scottcolmer/on_the_bench-1/page5.htmlFlounder

WHY dose Flat black DO THAT!!! I had the same thing happen on with the semi gloss black on the roof on the Paddy Wagon. As for breaking small parts of while improving them, I think we're all guilty of doing that more than once ...and when all is finished you'll never notice it. Keep going Flounder, it'll look great after the effort! Scotty

That little plate looks awesome - nice work! Did you just print that yourself on paper or is it a decal or something along those lines?

Wel, don't feel too bad Scott. I think we've all had a few of those nights. Better to just walk away from it and do something else, or work on some easy stuff. (like the license plate, which looks real nice!) Love looking at the detailed build stuff on the website. Very inspirational. Keep up the good work, and good luck at the contest with it.

Hang in there Flounder!!!!!..........It will all come together in time for the show. I don't know why, but sometimes just spraying a simple flat black can be a pain in the butt!!!.........Sometimes it dry in different shades, if you touch it or try to wipe it it start to shine up.........You just have to get that one coat on perfect!!! Everybody thinks flats are easy to do, but the gloss colors have the advantage of being wet sanded and polished if any mistakes occurs.

Have fun at the GNRS. Looks like the storm is rolling in again on Saturday, so we'll stay up here in Ventura. Good luck.
