What ever philosophy a person decides to go with will appease their personal anxiety .. lol.. Me? I guess I'm blessed in the fact that I buy whatever model kits I want . I don't even take in to consideration if it's "Rare" or "Popular" .. I just go with the "cool factor" and bring a fist full of 100 dollar bills .. Dollar bills are nothing more than FUN TICKETS .. The more FUN TICKETS you have , the more fun you can have !! Woohoo!! .. Hey, it's only a piece of plastic ! Starry Eyes You definitely share my philosophy on it. I've always just bought what I liked. I've always been a buy now worry later kind of guy too. I've borrowed lots of tickets to get what I want...LOL! Nice one Charlie...ha ha! Too funny.

OMG AJ, the reason why they bring the big $$$$$$$$$$ is because they are rare, think about this in the real world, how many teens must have blown up some of these kits, how many of them got thrown away when the kids moved out, how many became glue bombs,
there is a lot of people who want these kits, but the problem is alot of the tooling is gone for some of them, and a lot of these model companies think people want the ghetto low riders, or the crappy tuners, sorry I am not a fan of either subject,
look at how many years it took for the original Big T to be reissued,
I admit T'rantula dragster isn't really rare. but how many do you come across that are unbuilt and not end up paying $30 or more for it,
too many collectors out there take advantage of the situation, or you get these morons with the price guides and they automatically think they have gold even when it is an incomplete glue bomb.
I would like to see a lot of the classics available again, but who knows when some of them will be, only time will tell
take care George

I would like to see a lot of the classics available again, but who knows when some of them will be, only time will tell take care George Well George, we all have different perceptions. I've been collecting and archiving my own collection of kits for 10 to 15 years now and the Uncertain T was one of the easiest kits for me to get. Your thoughts are accurate however as to how many survived the 70s versus the demand. You could perceive as rare at that point but that is in my opinion just larger demand for lesser quantities. By all rights, it would be somewhat rare though due to the survival rate but there are truely rare kits which you just don't see available at all. Trying to find an unbuilt Horn Toad or Dog Catcher was my problem when filling in some spots. Everything else from Monogram was relatively easier to some extent. All of which took time and patience but I won't dissagree that there is some truth to being rare if you look at it from the pint of thousands being produced back in the day and how many made it through.

I thought of some possible kit bashes to make a replica, but I heard rumors on another board some guy in Canada is going to make resin castings of the body, so if this is the case, I could probably get 2 or 3 without breaking the bank. hmm a munster's themed one
