WOO-HOO!!! Glad I inspired someone else to build one of these fantastic kits (and thanks for the comment!!)!!! That looks FANTASTIC!! Love the shine of the paint on the body ... I only hope mine turns out that good, as I've got this same one waiting for its day at the table! That gray tubing sucks, doesn't it? The tubing you used really looks good!!

Wow, crazy thing about this. I was just at the Don Garlits Museum today on our way back from a race in Atlanta and took two pics of this very car. We were getting ready to pay for some shirts as we were leaving and low and behold BIG DADDY came out of a door and started talking to us. Of course we told him we had just came from a big slot car drag race and he came out and checked out the cars. He was nice enough to sign a handout I picked up in the museum and showed a true interest in our cars a very cool dude for sure. If you get a chance check it out there are some VERY cool cars in there. Later J.D.

Sweet build. What shade of blue did you use for the body? And where did you find the clear tubing you used on the engine?
Post by ramone on Jun 1, 2009 11:02:14 GMT -6
Tamiya metallic blue, 2 coats of Tamiya blue clear and 3 or 4 coats of Motip clear varnish. And a hell of a lot of polishing. I re did the body 3 times before i was satisfied with it!! Clear tubing came from a Lindberg 1/12 fiat kit!
