Not bad old man...was that the 6" or 8" roller You make the 2tone look easy. Did the headers fit on yours?

I may be a little late in praising this build, but it's 'cause I am still catching up on things past on this web site. This is one of my personal creations for Revell ( the other being the "Dodge Revellion "). Perhaps a little background on this kit ? Well Ok.
Sales were down when the "bean counters" at Revell came to the New Products department looking for a NEW AND CHEAP model kit. Funny cars were as popular then as they are now, so, it was decided that was the way to go. Several years before, Revel had started on the development of a 1953 Studebaker coupe. When it was learned that AMT was bringing one out, the project was "shelved". I did some searching in the storage room and found the body mold of the Studebaker. For a frame, I chose the one from the "Custom Parts Packs" but the wheel base of the body was too long. The tool room soon solved that by altering the rear fender openings. I don't recall the wheels and engine but they probably came from the Parts Packs also. BTW the frame chosen was originally found in the '59 Corvette by Revel.
Anyway the kit proved to be a success regardless of its meager beginnings, and what proved to be a popular kit from the "golden days" of our hobby.

Bob, you'll find many excellent builds and paint work here. I think most will agree Rick is the resident "paint guru" ( hope the g-man does mind that term). He plies his skills in any scale. A top resource for paint info too. He'll kill me for that statement. Answers will take time from his work. Wonderful to hear stories about the creation of kits. I've gone through about 5 "Miss Deals" in the last 18 months for engines, wheels and tires! Look forward to more "Styrene Tales". Visit often. Sign up if you're so inclined. Great to have you as a member. You wouldn't have a major stash of primo "Oldies But Goodies" would you? Come on now. I won't tell! ;D

Hey Bob, Thanks for the Info; & Kudos for taking a Bunch of Parts & coming up with such a great product !...I absolutely love the "feel" of this kit; it really exemplifies ingenuity. The Dodge Revellion is One Of The Next To come ( Real Soon) , I've decided to Paint that one in Lacquer; because of the details, Did you end up saving any of the Artwork/sketches, for either of these kits? ...And Bob, It is Absolutely Fantastic ; having you contribute to our Site; just to think; this Many years Later ...And I'm still working on your creations.............. And Loving It !!!!

I like them but how many do we actually need?

I have very few of the kits that I helped to create. At the time they were "just kits" and gave no thought that they would someday be popular icons from the past. I didn't realize that I was participating in the "golden age of modeling" nor did I have any idea that my name would be recognizable after I left Revell. I am simply amazed as to how things turned out.
At the risk of sounding egotistical, if anyone has the boxes of any kit on mine, I would autograph it and send it back to you. I have done this many times ( for some reason ).
