that's pretty cool. Now I might get off my butt and build one of the Milwaukee Mile. I have a ton of race track in my basement and could use actual photos as a back drop. It would not be as hard as yours. Just two straights and two corners. ;D

Dave you did a Great job.. I like that it's a long winding track. I bet after getting the hang of the track we'd have a serious race going on.. Looks like fun.. BiLL.. Hey Dave.. I have to ask, Mercury is 4? His name is Mercury.? You don't hear that often. A guy on this list named his son Lincoln. I know a girl named Chevelle..

Very Kool Track!!! I have been racin' slot cars since, well, along time ago. Here is my H.O. Track. It is an an Aurora Tub Track, a commercial track made in the sixties. It is made of fiberglass and the track sits down in recesses. I used all original Aurora Lock & Joiner track. I still have some cleanup to do on the Tub. I have a Yahoo group just for these Tub Tracks: groups.yahoo.com/group/auroratubtrack/When the weather is warm enough I invite friends over to run laps. We usually run original 60's cars. BTW - all those boxes on the shelves are model kits. ;D Marty

Now that's got to be a rare setup! Where do you live Marty? Looks like your in the garage, which guy are you in the picture? I'll come race ya! madmodeler, that was me too! We have a boy named Mercury and a boy named Lincoln. Believe it or not they were both my wife's idea. When Link was born we thought it would be a girl, we were going to call her Cricket (just like the one that used to be quite active on this site). What ever happened to her anyway?

Your track is very cool. I wish I had room to rebuild mine.

Your track is very cool. I wish I had room to rebuild mine. If you are going for all the detail with mountains and tall overpasses, yeah it takes a lot of room. There are alternatives if you scale it down, keep it flat, smaller buildings, etc... Rolling board that would fit under a bed or sofa. Fold down from a wall. Hanging by pulleys from a ceiling. One of the koolest ideas I have seen was a two sided table! Remember the old chalkboards that you could flip over? It was based on that. He had a road course on one side and an oval on the other. There was a locking system and fold down legs when you got to the side you wanted to race on. And it was on wheels! Marty

I've always loved slot cars, but I finally sold off most of everything I had in both HO and 1/32 scale slot stuff. Not enough room inside for a permanent setup, and everything rusts and corrode so bad down here you just can't have a garage track. Nice setup both of you!

i have a ton of old afx track in my attic. i get it out in the winter and set it up on the living room floor. my son jackson really loves racing on th old afx track (he's 6) but he only likes doing it in the winter because there's nothign else to do. we have abotu 20 cars (some are old original afx magnatraction, some are lifelike, and some are re-popped afx cars made by model motoring). we measured and counted track, and we have 535 running feet of it !
