It from the Revell C-5 2001 Daytona kit. I can't even figure out what the distributor is. Anyone have any shots of a detailed build or even better the mill on the real one.

no distributor on the ls motors,should have 8 seperate coils, usally on the valve covers,with short wire to plugs

Good to be back. Spent 8 days by the pool no phone, e-mail, or computer. Biggest decision was what to drink. I need more weeks like that. Got a little building done when we got back.

Scott,
New Generation GM small blocks have what's known as a reluctor wheel mounted to the front of the crank shaft... The spark sequence is triggered from there to the 8 individual coil packs & plugs. The " plug wires " as known to you are very short from the coil to to plug.
To see an exaggerated version of this, look at Chip Foose's / Rob Reisiner's IMPRESSION show car. The fake valve covers hide the coil packs & the plug wires are extra long...
