OK, who can guess what this little two night project is? Hosted on FotkiI am trying my hand at a thermoform canopy. This is made from Squadron Clear Thermaform material I bought many, many years ago. Basically you heat it over a candle and pull it over your buck. The shape is good, but it gets a frost to it. I've tried a couple more times and found that holding it further from the flame and being patient is the best bet for getting a clear copy. But it still needs more heat to get a good match to the shape of the buck. It's a fine balancing act. This is the first test that fit well. Hopefully I will not run out of material before I get it right. I will see if I can polish one out too. Hosted on FotkiIt's getting really crowded in there. I have name for it already, (not Beauty) but I am considering 5 Pound Bag. Maybe I can make that a sponsorship decal. Hosted on FotkiFlounder

My guess is that your 2 night project is a bracket for heat exchange into or out of your intercooler..!
As for the rest, it's really coming together Scott..! Won't be much longer now.... or will it..? Why don't you just vacuform your canopy..? I saw Herb last weekend & he's not doing much...Hizoot

You da' man Scott. It's an incredible piece of work! (especially for a curbside? LMAO!) Speaking of decals, Danny and I haven't had much luck with your sponsor sheet. (I think he has given up..) We have the scanned slimfast decals, but haven't been able to modify them right without totally ruining them. Sorry buddy. You may want to try alternate sources! Drop me a PM or gimme a call soon!

Pretty good guess Zoot. It's the ducting to from the roof to intercoolers. Oh, the canopy polished out pretty well. I am going to try to tint it with diluted red RIT dye mix in Future. I'll test it first. If it is still dull, I'll try the hairdryer. Thanks for all the effort on the decals, Tim. SoCal is about 20 minutes away. I think I'll stop by and see what they have that I can scan. Can you print if I send files? Thanks for the encouragement, Gents. Flounder Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

If your dye doesn't work, I think I have some red oil soluble dye that you could put into a clear & make your own transparent red out of it...Hizoot PS - Ventura was kinda fun toooo bad..!

Future is just basicaly clear acrylic - you can tint it with Tamiya transparent acrylics just fine.
