Okay, the "Dutch Treat" is almost ready for Prime Time, but I'm unsure what to do... I took a trip to Michaels Crafts and they came up a big goose egg in what I went after... What a poor selection of product to say the least and Hobby Lobby was just too far out of the way. Real Hobby Shops are an all but extinct breed around here as well. So, here's where I'm at. I have a rattle can of Testors "Hot Rod Primer" I could strat with, or some plain flat white, which is what I USED to use ever so long ago... Question one (1) Is the Testors "Hot Rod Primer", primer, or is it just primer color paint? The finish color I'm shooting for a a nice clean Pearl White like the Testors Clear Pearl overcoat used to make when shot over white. I had a can Steve Hammann gave me back in the last century, but despite my best efforts, I've failed to relocate it. While what I'm wanting as an end result doesn't REQUIRE the use of Testors products, I do like the ease of use they offer and I pretty much have everything else besides the pearl. Question two (2), is there any other readily available product that will produce the same results without undo expence? Something available at the craft department of Kmart, Walmart, Target, Lowes etc.?
And last of all (3?), since I haven't shot anything at it yet, is there one ready available product/primer that's safe over plastic and Testors putty? I'm not of a mind/mood to redo any of what I've worked towards so far. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
