I've been VERY busy as of late and this was the first chance I got to work on the beauty in a long while. The issue at hand was where to put the shifter. There sinply was not room inside the chassis. I decided to engineer a push button shift system that still uses a clutch. The first part part was to get the transaxle set up correctly. A little research revealed the aerotech transaxle was a March unit. A little more research netted some detail shots of the shifting aparatus. The simple in and out / rotate left and right shifting action can be actuated by solenoids mounted on the transaxle. these will be put in place when the transaxle gets it final detailing. The shift housing is there now. Hosted on FotkiThe next step was to create an aluminum steering wheel with the shift buttons in place. They are mounted right on top of each knurled handle. This is the third attempt. Hosted on FotkiNext is the guage panel. Lets hope I can find an easy one. I don't know when I will be free to work on it agian. Flounder.
