I have a perfectly good built up Deal's Wheels VW van, and I FINALLY chased down and purchased a new Deals Wheel repro '57 Chevy to fill the void of the missing Funster from my childhood, and there it sits, all fresh in the box, unbuilt, waiting, just waiting to be built to former childhood glory, and all I can think about is how bitchin' the slicks and straight axle would be underneath the van, like a VW Zinger.... Why? Why can't I leave anything alone? ;D

Brandon, you know what you have to do. You have got to put that straight axle on the van. Doing that, you know a blower and or injectors have to stick through the roof. You can do it Grasshopper! ;D ;D
It will be a killer build!!!!

Brandon. . . you are so funny. . . .because you are creative. . .and a bit wild. . .and you don't follow the rules. . .and that is why you do it. . .
Wait till it comes out again. . and use the new one for your bash. . . save the original. . . or the other way around!

Because you're just like me, and that's frightening. Last month I cleared my workbench to focus on completing three (similar) cars (early-'70s Modifieds, all driven by the same driver with the same paint and numbers). Now, I have nine cars on the bench again, because I can't finish one car without starting three more. I look at a photo and say, "I CAN build THAT car," then I start it and my other projects go to hell. There's a prescription medication for this, but the model companies are keeping it off the market for obvious reasons. <GRIN>

PS -- when Zingers and Deal's Wheels were NEW some 30+ years ago, I got creative and wanted to design my own. I took an HO-scale boxcar from the train set and painted it white (white? -- who knows why? -- I was young!) and used Letteraset lettering on its sides to read, "Lions & Orange County R.R." The rest of the "zinger" (blown engine, wheels, tires, axles, chute) came from a Funny Car kit. My parents could not understand why I did not finish building the Funny Car -- and why I "ruined" a perfectly good HO train car!

Box car.... maybe I can add one to my Rail Rod kitbash... I really don't want to tear into my built-up bus... but I've already pulled the front wheels off and mocked it up with the '57 axle and wheels... and I could very easily swap the blotation tires to the '57 with some moon discs and fill in the hood to make a street rod version.... Must... finish.... other ......started projects.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
