As Zoot pointed out, to me, I lost the Timbo challenge because I strayed WAAAAYYYYY outside my own guidelines. (Low detail, fast build) OK I lose. But, I win too. This has been the most enjoyable build I have ever worked on. Why? Because the amount of engineering and fabrication that it requires has been such a challenge to my skills. I have drawn out so many sub assemblies to figure out how they may work that I could put them in a book. The transaxle is nearly ready for paint - here are all the parts so far. Scale fasteners will be added as necessary. Hosted on FotkiHere is the pedal assembly. Still missing the caps and springs. The frosted jars will get filled with "brake" fluid. I also have some special detail in mind for this assembly. Hosted on FotkiThis is how I spent 3 hours (maybe more) this weekend. It's the hinge for the canopy. I am not entirely happy with one side. The holes need better spacing and there is a nick in it. Hosted on FotkiHere is how it works. Hosted on FotkiThis type of stuff may not be for everyone, but it really has been a good time for me! Well Scott,
Look at it this way, Tim didn't win you lost because you out did yourself... And while you may have lost the battle, looks like you've won the war.
I was able to keep up with your Uncertain C project but this thing is leaving me in the dust. I could never imagine the trans-axle you've come up with. This is what happens when you take the time to do the proper reasearch...
I also remember us discussing the hinge for the canopy & WOW you went right after it. Looks great & I think you're being too hard on yourself there. We both know there's no easy or perfect way to do this.
I know guys like Mark Jones can do this in 1/16th scale but you're doing it in a small 1/25th..! This is what happens to guys who don't like to paint right..? LOL...!Hizoot

This is what happens to guys who don't like to paint right..? LOL...! [/b] [/quote] That made me laugh out loud... Sometimes I find other things to add instead of getting to the paint stage.... quit stalling already. ;D Looks awesome!

That detail & craftsmanship is just amazing ... I feel lucky if I get the paint straight on a 1/20th scale now!
