This is really looking great now that you have painted the frame and body. Something with really wild graphics would be kool, like barbed wire, or pealing slash marks in the paint revealling another wild color underneath. Just suggestions.

The "Stinger 'Cuda" has been sitting in it's present state for a while now, but I hadn't bothered to take pictures. I can't get done what I wanted to today, so I bothered to take those pictures I'd been meaning to get around to... Last we left the SC, it was Nice in White satin, still is... But that's not what's changed, it's what's under that skin that's done... NO! Not that far under! That's better! The chassis is now finished except for the seatbelts, they'll be two sets, one on the driver and another under him, for when it's displayed without him... Anyway, I've added a coil and wiring for it, linkage and whatnot... Gauge wiring too, along with a chute cable and handle... Fire bottle, brakes, steering... Open wide... The other side of the story... Bringing up the rear... Now it's all down to paint and graphics, which is still a big fat question mark. I have a can of Testors pearl yellow that I was GOING to use, but I'm just not happy with how my old models that I painted with Testors have held up... Thoughts and comments welcome and encouraged! Till next time!

Looks great, Mike! I was wondering where this was. Your little dude might like a visor to keep his peepers safe.
As for color - do you have an airbrush? Check out Extreme colors for some nice paints. That also sell the eurethene clear that looks so glossy.

It really needs some variation on those Mopar "Go" colors - orange, lime, yellow, bright blue, purple, etc. Personally, I'm picturing it in Tamiya Light Blue Mica, though as a kid, I always wanted a bright yellow 'Cuda with hot pink pinstriping along the beltline/fender peaks.

I've always loved the Stinger Cuda Mike, It was a big inspiration to get me going on my "Stingy" project. I wish I could help suggest a color or scheme. I can sure understand, sometimes I have a very hard time choosing colors. I was just thinking maybe it's meant to be white !! -or- how 'bout White with a "Mopar" "Direct Connection" theme ?? "White" with some Red & Blue Graphics, with Mopar -Direct Connection theme ?? Red, White, & Blue ?? ....Just a thought.
You've done a great job of building this car. Look Forward to see what you come up with, -Whatever it is.

Hey !! One other thing I wanted to share with you Mike, I've had 3 rattlecans of Testors Model Master gloss pearl clearcoat ( #2944 ) -Laying around for a couple years now, -and just after I posted the above message, I finally broke one out & test spayed it over a "white" part and mann !! it looked good !! ...maybe you've used it before ?? This was the first time I've used it !! I was very impressed with the results. ?? another possible suggestion for the Stinger Cuda ?? ....just another thought !

I used the Testors pearl white on my "Dutch Treat" and it is a very pretty color, but since I just used it, and I like to add new to the existing spectrum when possible, I'm still leaning towards the Pearl yellow, or something similer. Plus yellow is a fairly traditional Mopar color... I'm also leaning hard on the "Stardust II" graphic... Glad everyone likes it so far, it's been a very satisfying return to detailed building and has been a helpfuf warm up to the level I'm taking the "Cord of Wood" to.

I had decided this dusty old project was a prime(d) canidate for the 2011 Fools With No Rules contest since it's based on the Stinger, which is based on the "Trick-T", it's got a pretty good chunk of Tom Daniel designed chassis under it... So... I'd stalled out some time ago on a color and, on how to do the seat belts. I needed them to be flat enough so the driver could lay on top of them when I display it with a driver. But, I wanted them to still look 'real' enogh to be believable too. Yesterday I had a brainstorm on how to do a set of seat belts using sign vinyl and my plotter... I used flat black vinyl for the belts and chrome mylar for the 'hardware'... Before... After... I think it worked out pretty good! Threw some paint at the body too... I'm going Plum Crazy but, I Might just get this done in time!
