I hate to think how old this model is now... How old? Old enough to drink in all 50 States old. How does one describe such a project... It all started with a Johan 1969 Cadillac Eldorodo that was bought for the Latham Supercharger alone (Still unused) and tossed into the parts bin and almost forgotten. Then one afternoon of "model bench racing" I grabbed the Caddy body, four Monogram Sprint car engines and two sets of the small rear tires from the same donor kits as the engines, stuffed them into the body in an all out effort not to be out done and said, "I'm gonna build THIS!" to which my good friend and fellow basher said, "Can't be done!". Nothing like a challenge to inspire all out mayhem! I then decided that this would be an uncompressed assault on limitations, an exercise in overt extremism. It took 8 months and more scratch building than any project before or since. And engineering feats never before attempted. Not only would I build this piece of 4 engine, 4 wheel drive (Not what you think), insanity, but it would all be provable functional, were anyone willing to invest the time and money necessary to build a real, one to one version of the ultimate 'Put up or shut up' Pro Street maddness. Sadly, no one has stepped up to the challenge yet. By far too many words at this point, I'll let these brand spanking, not as well lit as I'd like, pictures do the rest of the talking...
Besides the obvious opening doors and trunk, tilt body, the rear suspension is fully functional with a working coil over mono shock and waits linkage. The idea was to have four 406 cubic inch small block Chevy engines giving a total displacement of 1624 cubic inches! Caddies always had BIG power plants you know!
Till next time!
